OK so I must confess, I wanted this to be a video post; I was going to do this in my car whilst driving along, all sort of Frank Kern like.. The problem is I haven’t got one of those sticky things for the windscreen to mount your cell (or as we say in the UK mobile) on. I’ve ordered one, so hopefully that’ll be here in the next few days and I’ll give it a try.
Anyway, things are moving on quite rapidly (well in terms of my learning and setting things up).. I’ve decided that I don’t like the plain header on this blog, so I have found someone on a site called www.fiverr.com to design me a new one.. we’ll see.
Have you heard of Fiverr? If you’re totally new to this online marketing game, you may not have. It’s been around for a while now, but pretty much what happens is that you go there and search for someone to do you a job, for a fiver ($5). The sort of services on offer range from design (as I have used) to voiceovers, through to SEO services, to well.. anything you can think of really; and some are some real crazy things! You should take a look.. and if you can see a header on this blog that has my picture on it.. well that’s the new design. Let me know what you think. (As of writing this, it’s not yet been finished, so I’m not sure if it’ll be good or not) Actually, that’s a good point.. when you search on Fiverr for a service, order the results in order of rating (high first) so the best or highest reviews come first.. that way you’ll know you have a good chance of getting a great job done!
Anyway, the subject of this mail is How Do You Eat An Elephant? I’m sure you’ve heard this before, it’s not new but I like it.. And the reason I brought it up is because it’s relevant to me.
I know what I want to achieve, (I mean I can picture the goal – successful information publishing business, seven figure income, happy responsive email list, feeling that I am really helping people get started) but that’s over there.. (somewhere out there.. and it looks HUGE from where I am standing).. Huge enough to almost stop you in your tracks (stop me in my tracks I mean)..
And then I remembered something that made me laugh a while ago.. and it was How Do You Eat An Elephant?
The answer is of course.. One bite at a time.
The answer to this success is just that, I’m sure.. and so I’ll just take one step at a time. Now I know for sure, for absolute sure, some of those ‘bites’ will be chewy or not taste good (ok I’ll stop the elephant analogy) what I mean is the steps will sometimes be the wrong ones… but as long as I’m taking steps.. Then I’m moving.. Then I’m still going towards my target.
Hope that makes sense! Would love to hear what you think.. (keep it clean!)
Til next time
